About Us
Committed to Caring
Golden Oaks Assisted Living ("Golden Oaks") is a family owned and managed assisted living in the Heart of San Antonio, Texas. Conveniently located near Loop 410, our residents enjoy a home and family-like atmosphere that only a small assisted living facility can provide.
Golden Oaks is set apart from larger facilities because our residents feel at home. Instead of a large commercial building, Golden Oaks is a house, that is nestled in a neighborhood, much like the homes our residents come from. With our small admittance, we can build strong bonds with our seniors, that grow into family ties. Seniors cannot get lost in the crowd.
Using our experience of 10 years in Senior Care, we created an atmosphere that is stylish and safe. Our home was designed with seniors in mind. We’ve paired ADA accommodations with a Texas flair for a home that is truly “home away from home.”
We let our reputation speak for itself. Serving San Antonio seniors since 2016, Golden Oaks has been awarded ‘Top Rated Senior Care for 2019’ by Senior Advisor. We are also listed in the ‘Top 30 Assisted Living Facilities in San Antonio’ by Geriatric Nursing.
At Golden Oaks, we strive to provide compassionate, dependable care that is tailored to each individual resident. Our residents can age with grace and dignity knowing that every service provided is a result of respect.
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."
1 Peter 4:10
At Golden Oaks we strive to provide a seamless transition from living independently, to living in a supportive atmosphere.
Home Environment
At Golden Oaks we aim to offer a home like environment that a large facility just can't achieve. The home was designed with elderly care needs in mind offering wheel chair accessibility throughout the home. Our rooms are private and spacious and all include a wall mounted t.v. with Spectrum cable, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime subscriptions.
Quality Meals
Staff is encouraged to prepare three home cooked meals daily. We cater to a variety of dietary needs and keep in mind the likes and dislikes of our residents when making meals. Snacks are available in-between meals.
Caring Staff
Our staffing ratios are 1 : 6 which is very low compared to many other facilities. Our staff is carefully selected and trained to give the best care possible. Golden Oaks goes above and beyond and our reputation speaks for it's self.

"I love that it has a "real home" feel to it! My father has flourished from the care hes received. He has formed close relationships with his caregivers and other residents, alleviating much of his loneliness and depression which provides me with a tremendous peace of mind. Everyone is always so helpful and willing to go above and beyond – what a great place!"
Pam T.
"On behalf of the family and extended family, let me formally say we appreciate everything Golden Oaks did for my mother. She was not the easiest to care for but I believe she was in a truly caring environment. I don't think we could have found nicer people to surround her at the end."

FAQ
Do You Have a Question?
How do I know if it's the right time to move mom/dad?
When it becomes apparent that mom/dad are needing extra help, then it is time to consider the next step. As we age we are no longer able to perform daily tasks like before. Most Residents are independent but need that extra set of hands and eyes to help them navigate throughout the day. All things considered everyone is unique and not one person can say when or when not to move your loved one.
What is hospice care and can my loved one age in place?
Hospice care is comfort care for patients with a prognosis of six months or less if their disease runs its natural course, as certified by a physician. Most patients receive hospice services from a Medicare-certified hospice organization, which provides each patient with an interdisciplinary team—physician, nurse, hospice aide, social worker, chaplain, volunteer and bereavement specialist—who come to the patient’s home, wherever they call home. Yes, we at Golden Oaks believe the Resident has the right to age in place and pass in the place that they know as home.
Mom/dad are no longer able to safely manage medication, Does Golden Oaks assist with that?
Yes, Golden Oaks staff is able to handle medication management for them. Per state requirements we have all medication locked away and any narcotics double locked and we've included electronic surveillance monitoring. Each resident has a medication administration sign-off sheet that we make per their doctors Rx orders. All narcotics are counted and signed off separately. Also, a nurse is available to delegate staff on any medication needing further teaching.
